Low-Code & AI Solutions Manager
Porto · Senior · Full-time
You have the opportunity to join our team and tackle business challenges in a dynamic, purpose-driven environment characterized by close collaboration with business stakeholders.
As a Low-Code & AI Solutions Manager, you will lead the strategic technical delivery, platform governance, and people management of the Microsoft Power Platform engineering capability for a global market leader in chemical and ingredients distribution, operating across dozens of countries and serving hundreds of thousands of customers worldwide. You will bridge the gap between business strategy and low-code solution architecture, overseeing the design and deployment of scalable, enterprise-grade applications, complex Power Automate workflows, and Copilot Studio conversational agents.
Alongside the technical direction, you will lead a team of low-code developers: setting engineering standards, embedding application lifecycle management (ALM) best practices, and ensuring robust environment security through the Power Platform Center of Excellence (CoE), as part of the company's wider journey to become a data- and technology-driven business.
Your Role and Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership & Coaching: Manage, coach, and develop a team of Power Platform developers and low-code specialists. Set engineering standards, review solution designs, and grow the team's skills in both low-code and pro-code practices.
- Delivery Excellence & Stakeholder Engagement: Oversee the end-to-end delivery of the solution portfolio, ensuring solutions meet business requirements, accessibility standards, and performant design patterns. Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical business leaders and senior stakeholders.
- Platform Architecture: Lead the high-level architecture design across canvas apps, model-driven apps, Power Pages, Dataverse, and Copilot Studio.
- Pro-Code Extensibility & Integration: Define the strategy for pro-developer extensibility, including custom Power Apps Component Framework (PCF) controls, custom API connectors, and Azure Functions. Oversee data integration patterns between Dataverse and enterprise systems such as SAP, ServiceNow, SQL Server, and Microsoft 365.
- AI & Agentic Capabilities: Drive the adoption of Copilot Studio, grounding custom AI agents on enterprise data through Microsoft Graph and custom data sources.
- Governance, ALM & Security: Own the tenant-wide CoE Starter Kit capabilities, with monitoring, telemetry, and reporting on maker activity. Design and enforce the environment strategy (Dev, Test, Prod), including Data Loss Prevention (DLP) policies and environment routing; implement and maintain automated deployment pipelines; and ensure role-based access control, Dataverse security roles, and business unit hierarchies align with enterprise compliance and data protection policies.
Your Skills and Experiences:
- 5+ years of hands-on experience designing and building enterprise solutions across the Microsoft Power Platform stack.
- 2+ years in a technical leadership, team lead, or CoE management role, supervising developers or architects.
- Advanced proficiency in the core stack: Power Apps (canvas and model-driven), Power Automate (cloud and desktop flows), Dataverse, and Power Pages.
- Proven track record of managing multi-environment Power Platform architectures with automated ALM pipelines.
- Demonstrated experience establishing enterprise Dataverse security models, DLP policies, and environment governance.
- Solid practical experience building enterprise bots and agents with Copilot Studio.
- Hands-on experience with the Power Platform CoE Starter Kit and related governance tools.
- Strong relational database design skills within Dataverse (relationships, calculated fields, security roles, virtual tables).
- Experience integrating Power Platform solutions with enterprise systems such as SAP, ServiceNow, SQL Server, and Microsoft 365, including custom connectors and Azure Functions, is an advantage.
- Hands-on coding experience with C#, TypeScript/JavaScript (for PCF component creation), or web languages (HTML/CSS for Power Pages) is a plus.
- Knowledge of robotic process automation (RPA) integrations and legacy UI automation is a plus.
- Proven people-leadership skills: coaching and developing developers, setting clear standards, and building a healthy, high-performing team.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical business leaders in a global, multicultural environment.
- Fluency in English (spoken and written) is essential; German is a plus.
