Product Owner

As a Product Owner, you will drive the vision and delivery of a European B2B marketplace platform for a leading European trade and services cooperation connecting thousands of suppliers and hundreds of retailers. The platform brings a growing set of digital services for retail and industry together in one modern, cloud-native experience.

Acting as the bridge between business stakeholders, end users, and a cross-functional engineering team (Java/Quarkus, Angular, and DevOps on Azure), you will turn complex business requirements from retail and industry into a clear, prioritized product backlog that delivers real value.

Your Role and Responsibilities:

• Product Vision & Roadmap: Own and communicate the product vision and roadmap, ensuring alignment between business goals, user needs, and technical feasibility.
• Backlog Ownership: Build, refine, and prioritize the product backlog, writing clear user stories with well-defined acceptance criteria.
• Requirements & Domain: Work closely with stakeholders and domain experts to understand complex business processes, data flows and rules between retailers and suppliers, such as invoicing, payments and claims handling, and translate them into actionable requirements.
• Team Collaboration & Agile Delivery: Collaborate daily with engineers, designers, and QA to clarify requirements, make trade-off decisions, and ensure the team builds the right thing. Lead and participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
• Feedback & Metrics: Gather and analyze user feedback, usage data, and business metrics to validate features and continuously improve the user experience.
• Stakeholder Management & Releases: Manage stakeholder expectations, communicate progress transparently, and ensure timely, high-quality product releases.

Your Skills and Experiences:

• Around 3+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, or Business Analyst in software development teams.
• Solid experience working in Agile/Scrum environments and managing backlogs with tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar.
• Proven ability to translate complex business and technical requirements into clear user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Good technical understanding of web applications, APIs, and modern software delivery, enough to engage in meaningful discussions with engineering teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-informed approach to decision-making.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to align diverse groups around shared priorities.
• Experience with B2B platforms or marketplaces, retail or supply-chain processes, or invoicing and payment services is a plus; so is familiarity with UX principles and user research, or a Scrum certification (such as PSPO or CSPO).
• Fluency in English (spoken and written); German is a plus.
