Fullstack Engineer

As a Fullstack Engineer, you will design and build a European B2B marketplace platform for a leading European trade and services cooperation connecting thousands of suppliers and hundreds of retailers. The platform brings a growing set of digital services for retail and industry together in one modern, cloud-native experience on Microsoft Azure.

Working across the full stack, you will develop robust backend services with Java and Quarkus and craft clean, responsive user interfaces with Angular, bridging the gap between complex business processes and seamless user journeys.

Your Role and Responsibilities:

• Backend Services & APIs: Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and RESTful APIs using Java and Quarkus, following cloud-native and microservices best practices.
• Frontend Development: Build responsive, high-performance user interfaces with Angular and TypeScript, translating complex business logic into intuitive user experiences.
• API Contracts: Model and expose clean, well-structured JSON contracts between backend services and the frontend, ensuring consistency and maintainability across the stack.
• Integration & Data: Integrate with core enterprise systems, databases, and third-party services, handling data persistence, transformation, and orchestration.
• User Journeys: Turn complex B2B processes between retailers and suppliers, such as invoicing, payments and claims handling, and data-heavy dashboards into frictionless user journeys.
• Quality & Delivery: Write robust unit, integration, and end-to-end tests across backend and frontend, contribute to code reviews and engineering standards, and support build tooling and containerized deployment pipelines using Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD practices.

Your Skills and Experiences:

• Solid professional experience with Java (17+) and Quarkus; strong experience with Spring Boot is also highly valued, along with a willingness to work with Quarkus.
• Proven experience building complex, state-heavy web applications with Angular and TypeScript.
• Strong understanding of RESTful API design and microservices architecture.
• Experience with testing frameworks such as JUnit, Mockito, or Jest.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with Tailwind CSS, shared component libraries or design systems, or messaging systems (such as Kafka) is a plus.
• A pragmatic, end-to-end mindset, with the ability to take ownership of features from database to UI.
• A highly collaborative mindset with excellent communication skills to thrive in cross-functional Agile/Scrum teams.
• Fluency in English (spoken and written); German is a plus.
